BEVERLEY BITES

A history tour with a foodie twist

Hi, I'm Emma, the founder of Beverley Bites. Come and explore the heart of historic Beverley with me on a guided walking and tasting tour.

We’ll stroll through charming medieval streets, uncover the stories behind the iconic Minster and bustling markets, and take in the town’s elegant Georgian revival.

Along the way, you’ll enjoy plenty of delicious local food and drink. It’s the perfect way to experience Beverley’s rich history—one bite at a time.

What do I do?

I take my guests on a circular walk around Beverley to immerse them in the history of a town that has developed and flourished for over a thousand years.

We follow the original medieval street pattern, explore the bustling market, stop by some historic pubs, and admire the breathtaking beauty of our Gothic Minster. Along the way, we enjoy a tasting journey through at least eight delicious, locally produced food and drink treats—from freshly baked croissants and hearty homemade pies to a refreshing pint, a splash of gin, cheese and biscuits, a vibrant vegan platter, and rich chocolate ice cream.

As we wander the streets of one of England’s most charming and historic market towns, guests aren't just soaking up the sights and stories—they're tasting Beverley, one bite at a time.

So, what do you say—are you ready to take a bite out of Beverley’s history?

Tickets cost £50 per person.

Supporting local

As part of my tour, I want to showcase and support our local, independent food and drink scene here in Beverley. And there are so many places I could include. But as we don't have all day, nor do we have stomachs big enough, I've had to curate the places you visit to ensure you get a variety of food and drink along the route. Your ticket price helps to cover the cost of everything you eat and drink.

Meet your guide

Hi, I’m Emma, a proud resident of Beverley with a deep passion for its rich and fascinating history.

My journey into Beverley’s past truly began when I became a roof guide at our stunning medieval Minster - a role I still have today. This awe-inspiring building, dominating the town’s skyline for centuries, ignited my curiosity and encouraged me to discover even more about the town’s remarkable heritage.

History is woven into the very fabric of Beverley; it’s impossible to ignore. It shapes our modern street patterns, reveals itself inside shops and historic buildings, lingers in the market squares, and even speaks through the names of our streets.

Living here means walking through layers of history every day, and I love discovering and sharing the stories that make Beverley so unique.

Looking for something a little more tailored?

If you'd prefer just a slice of Beverley’s food and history rather than the full feast, I can design a bespoke tour just for your group. Whether you're after a shorter walk, a focus on specific tastes (cakes and cocktails? cheese and beer?), or even a history-only experience with no food stops - just let me know your preferences and I’ll create something that suits you perfectly.

Drop me a message and we’ll plan your perfect outing.
